Product Calendar Entries

You are here:

The product functionality has been updated with several new sub-features to ensure the system remains up to date. Here’s the video guide, with the text description below:

iCal Integration: When a product service is booked, an iCal item is created and included in the automatic email sent to both the customer and the freelancer. This iCal file is automatically added to the calendar associated with the recipient’s email address, enhancing calendar functionality when enabled.

Product Type Filtering: Users can select which types of products are available for selection during product creation.

UI Customizations:

  • Hide Accept Seller Terms Checkbox: The default checkbox for accepting the seller’s terms and conditions can be hidden if desired.
  • Remove Price Option: Although not typically enabled, there is an option to remove the price display.
  • Use Credit Price: If a credit system is set up, users can opt to use credit prices instead of regular prices. This feature is currently disabled as credits are not in use.
  • Redesign Product Pages: Both the top section of the product page and the create product page can be redesigned, with demonstrations available.
  • Skip Milestone Payment Status: This feature, usually related to the credit system, can be skipped.
  • Collapse Milestones: Milestones on the product page can be displayed in full or collapsed by default. It is recommended to collapse them initially, allowing users to expand for more details.

Product Management:

  • Allow Removing Products: Products can be set to live or hidden, and deletion can be enabled to allow removal of products.
  • Generate Keywords: Utilizing ChargingPoint.WBT, AI-generated keywords are created for newly added products based on the provided data and saved into a custom data field. These keywords are included in product searches to enhance discoverability.

Payment and URL Settings:

  • Payment Options: Users can choose to receive payments online, offline, or both. Enabling the online-only option restricts users to online payments.
  • URL Customization: By default, users can set their own URLs for SEO purposes. Alternatively, URLs can be automatically generated based on the user and product name.

Multiple Bookings: This feature allows users to create packages containing multiple items. For example, a yoga workshop with three classes can specify the number of bookings included in a single purchase. The number of bookings is determined by custom data fields.

Integration with cal.com: The system integrates with cal.com to manage availability, replacing the internal scheduling system. Availability is synchronized with external calendars through cal.com, ensuring accurate scheduling. When a product is purchased, multiple milestones are created, and cal.com handles the booking process.

Booking Process Demonstration:

  1. Creating an Item: Users can create an item with multiple bookings, such as selecting two yoga sessions, each lasting 30 minutes.
  2. Setting Availability: Through cal.com, availability is managed and integrated with external calendars.
  3. Purchasing a Product: Upon purchase, two milestones are created, and cal.com facilitates the booking process.
  4. Booking Confirmation: A booking confirmation email with an attached ICS file is sent, which is automatically added to the user’s calendar (e.g., Google Calendar). The calendar entry includes a video link that directs users back to the platform for video calls between the two parties.

Summary: The updated product system includes features such as iCal integration, product type filtering, UI customizations, product management options, payment and URL settings, multiple bookings, and integration with cal.com. These enhancements provide a comprehensive and flexible system for managing product bookings and related functionalities. For any questions or further assistance, users are encouraged to reach out.
