Stripe allows you to hold funds in your freelancer’s Connected Accounts for 90 days (or 2 years for freelancers based in the US).
After that deadline, if the freelancer has an available bank account, Stripe will automatically release the funds to that bank account. If they don’t have an available bank account, Stripe will process a refund to the Customer.
To help your users, we will soon be building a tool to send an email reminder to the relevant freelancer and customer 30 days before this deadline, warning them about their upcoming deadline.
